This kilim is a real painting!
Here's its story, or rather how it came to us. 3 years ago, I discovered this piece inside a decorating magazine, I believe. The caption read "Private collection. Miami. USA".
I then contacted all my friends in Turkey, all my contacts, all my suppliers.
I wanted the same one, as old, as moving, as attractive, same format. I had to have the same one!
I remember that one of my friends advised me to go to Miami myself and ask its owner to sell it to me.
In fact, the difficulty was that I couldn't find it.
I was sent a few photos of pale imitations, of more recent similar pieces...
Years went by, nothing.
Until one day, a few months ago, when one of my suppliers wrote me these words "I've got it, are you still interested in it ?

Well, here it is!
It's woven wool on wool. The weave and texture are incredible. Abrash all over. Breathtaking vegetal hues. An ascensional composition.
