JAPAN - Edo period (1603 - 1868).
Complete samurai armor.KABUTO (helmet) in wrought iron with seventeen blades, matte brown lacquered.
THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in gilded copper with three chased, openwork, patinated and gilded copper steps, the first step decorated with foliage scrolls on a nanako background.
SHIKORO (neck cover) with four steps in shiny black lacquered iron and blue silk braiding (slightly missing).
MABI SA SHI (visor) in matte-brown lacquered wrought iron, highlighted with a gilded copper fillet and centered with two sinograms inscribed in a disk.
FUKIGAESHI (fins) small and black lacquered decorated with the mon of the Okudaira clan.
Openwork engraved copper MAETATE in the shape of a boar's eye iris at the front of the kabuto and a rare second maedate at the top in silver-lacquered wood featuring a disk decorated with reeds in the wind.
MEMPO (half mask) in wrought iron, pronounced chin, mobile nose, brown horsehair whiskers, visible gilded teeth, pierced nostrils, sweat holes under chin.
YODARE-KAKE (gorgerin) with four black lacquered steps and blue silk braiding.
DO (breastplate) with eight black lacquered parts and blue silk braid (small missing parts).
SODE (shoulder pads) with eight black lacquered parts and blue silk braid.
KOTE (arm protectors) in chain mail and black lacquered stamped metal plates.
KUSAZURI (skirt) and HAIDATE (shorts) with four black lacquered rows and blue silk braiding, the last row highlighted with hair.
SUNEATE (leggings) in black lacquered iron plates, blue mesh and braiding on quilted fabric.
Sold with its presentation stand.
TETSUSABIJI KOGAKE (shoes)composed of shiny black lacquered wrought-iron plates, chainmail and quilted fabric.
SAIHAI (command staff) in lacquered wood, copper and paper strips.
Dimensions of armor in seated position : 148 x 84 x 68 cm.

Sold with its double GUSOKU BITSU (carrying cases) made of wood and metal reinforcements decorated with the Okudaira clan mon.
