Sculpted, molded, red lacquered and gilded wooden temple armchair, the curved back with geometric decoration, the scrolled armrests, the black leather seat, the folding X-shaped base with footrest. The ensemble is adorned with gilded copper scalloped plates engraved with stylized chrysanthemums on a nanako background. The reverse of the back features the mon of the Ishikawa clan and three sinograms.

Notes : Placed in ceremonial halls or temple reception areas, these seats testify to the refinement of Japanese craftsmanship and the importance attached to the dignity of religious functions.
