Beautiful Face, Rescued From A Louis XIV Period Baroque Wood Paneling
A beautiful object, likely a fragment of an architectural sculpture from the Grand Siècle (17th century), a wood panel or altar piece, secular or religious, which escaped destruction.
This sculpture, depicting the face of a child-king or an archangel, crafted by a master sculptor, was placed on a base made by his craftsmen; it is a beautiful sight.
