Pair Of Small Openwork Frames In The Baroque Style, Italy, 18th–19th Century

A beautiful pair of small oval carved wooden frames, each carved from a single piece of softwood. 
The finely openwork decoration combines flowers, fruits,a nd plant scrollwork beneath a baroque-style upper shell.
The golden and red patina, which is particularly well done, appears to have been subject of restoration or retouching.
These frames are antique; I have noted comparable examples in auctions held by Pandolfini, where this type of work is attributed to 18th-century southern Italy.… —see tphotos of backs.
Beautifully carved, lovely patina, appears to be in good condition: some surface wear; however, reverse side reveals their age, with several cracks that were previously repaired, one of which is reinforced with a consolidation splint.
