Pretty Neo-classical Bronze Plate, Antique Comic Poets
Artist: Ateliers Parisiens
high quality bronze plaquette, found on the Net, round, single-sided, presenting in double cameo the profiles of Greek poet Menander, and of Latin poet Terence, who two centuries later adapted the comedies in Rome. Their comedies were highly appreciated by Molière who was inspired by their spirit.
No matter how hard I tried, I found nothing about original edition, casting or distribution for this beautiful bronze, which I think is French, neo-classical, 1st Empire period. (Hypothesis of a non-specialist).
