18th Century Silver And Rhinestone Belt Buckle
Composed of two 18th century radiating elements with floral sprig motifs in silver, set with cut rhinestones.
The two elements may have been earrings, but not buttons, as the back shows no trace of a cut ring. The belt loop adaptation was certainly made later, and is also made of tested silver.
The stones display the black dot painted at the point of the pavilion, characteristic of older pieces, intended to enhance their brilliance, which is so close to that of a diamond.
Unhallmarked silver, tested with a touchstone.
Perfect condition; the settings under the stones are not oxidized, all the rhinestones are original and sparkling, no missing pieces.
Dimensions: 6.4 cm x 3.2 cm.
Weight: 21 g for the set.
