Oil on canvas from the 19th century depicting a lively riverside scene, where several figures are dancing while a storm gathers over the landscape.

The composition is structured around a large multi-arched bridge crossing the valley, overlooked by a picturesque ruin perched on the hillside. The setting recalls the dramatic landscapes popular in the 19th century and echoes, in spirit, the architectural fantasies and romantic ruins associated with Hubert Robert and later painters inspired by his work.

In the foreground, a small group of figures animates the scene. Two dancers, dressed in brightly colored garments, appear to spin joyfully near the water while other characters rest nearby. The treatment of the costumes and the lively gestures lend the composition a slightly Orientalist character, reflecting the Romantic taste for picturesque and exotic scenes.

One of the most striking elements of the painting is the sky: dramatic clouds in shades of violet and blue announce the approaching storm, creating a strong contrast with the warm tones of the landscape. This interplay of color enhances the theatrical and poetic atmosphere of the scene.

A signature, still undeciphered to date, appears in the lower right corner.
