Small Boulle Marquetry Cartel Clock In The Louis XIV Style
A beautiful small Boulle marquetry cartel clock in the Louis XIV style, the whole piece enhanced with applied bronze mounts. This clock is equipped with a round Parisian movement striking the hours and half-hours on a bell, with a striking mechanism activated by a chaperone. It is wound weekly. The dial is composed of 12 enamel cartouches with Roman numerals for the hours. It has steel "Persil" hands. The mechanism will be serviced before sale (disassembly, correction of wear, cleaning, reassembly, oiling, and regulation). It comes with its original key and pendulum.
