Baroque devotional display case with Virgin and Child (wax). The architecturally designed case is made of carved and gilded wood, with a flowing cornice adorned with acanthus motifs and glazed sides. Inside, on a gilded base, is a Virgin and Child sculpted in hand-modeled wax (boss work), dressed in rich fabrics with applied silver braid and lace, and wearing gilded copper crowns. A typical example of monastic work (Klosterarbeit) in Alpine Baroque art, combining wax figures, precious textiles, and a gilded case, intended for private devotion.
