Silver hilt. Single-branch guard decorated with a flower and laurel branches. Bivalve guard with a rim bearing the hallmark "C"; "Rooster1" Paris 1809-1818, to the right and "C"; maker's mark "LG" Gautier. Oval pommel decorated with the Arms of France surrounded by laurel branches. Grip entirely filigreed in silver, ferrules in vertically chased silver. Straight blade with a flat back and fullers, engraved, gilded for one-third of its length, marked on one side in a cartouche "VIVE LE ROI" and engraved at the ricasso "Coulaux Frères"; on the other side, three fleurs-de-lis, a palmette and "Manufacture Royale dev Klingenthal", on each side, all on a blued ground. Scarlet wool tie. Black leather sheath with a chape featuring an oval button for belt attachment and engraved on the back "Given by the King to Mr. Guyot Pierre Jean" in silver. Silvered brass chape.
