Napoleon III Gilt Wood And Stucco Mirror With Swan Pediment, Beveled Glass, 120 Cm

Elegant Napoleon III period mirror in carved wood and stucco, finely gilt with gold leaf, featuring a refined neoclassical inspired design.

The pediment is adorned with a swan with outstretched wings set within a floral wreath, framed by garlands, ribbons and twisted decorative elements. The composition is well balanced and delicately sculpted, characteristic of 19th century decorative taste.

The original beveled glass is preserved. The silvering shows two very slight and discreet spots, barely noticeable to the eye, and not affecting the overall decorative appeal.

The back retains its original 19th century wooden panel. The structure is perfectly sound and stable. Secure wall hanging system.

The original gilding has been preserved, showing a beautiful natural patina with light wear consistent with age.

Currently displayed in situ; due to its weight and the delicacy of the gilt stucco decoration, handling is carried out by two persons.
