High Period Leather Box Decorated On A Wooden Core, France, 17th Century
A beautiful early period wooden table box covered in leather, decorated in the classical style of the period with geometric shapes and adorned with wrought iron. A lovely piece in excellent overall condition, retaining all its original wrought iron fittings (hinges, lock, corner brackets, handle on the lid, and small front hooks) and displaying a beautiful antique patina. The interior still has its original heavy linen lining. The hasp lock is present, but there is no key. French work dating from the mid-17th century, at the transition between Louis XIII and Louis XIV. Note: Shipping within France is possible via Colissimo with tracking and signature confirmation: €20.
