Pair Of Large Bronze Disc Candlesticks , Holland , 18th Century
Pair of important 18th-century patinated bronze ceremonial candlesticks
Beautiful and spectacular Dutch model resting on a campaniform circular base, with a baluster shaft divided by a wide molded disk and ending in a high ringed spigot; in each of the two spigots we can still make out the start of a small wrought-iron spindle used to hold the candle.
Nice quality work known as "Dutch Colonial" as it was widely used in official interiors in the Dutch colonies of the East Indies.
In excellent general condition (no repairs or welding, each candlestick can still be completely dismantled into 4 parts, allowing us to see the manual threading of the assemblies, in keeping with the period in which they were made).
Beautiful patina from use.
NB / Shipment possible to France via Colissimo with tracking and insured against signature : 50 euros . Other destinations on request.
