Bronze Louis XV Style Tray/display Stand, From The 18th Century.
A lovely Louis XV style bronze tray on feet, with three fixed, openwork compartments. French work from the 18th century. A fine quality piece with a shaped tray and a beaded edge, foliate side handles, and tall, molded compartments with profiled window cutouts. This type of tray/display stand was used to complement the decor of a desk or table, allowing for the placement of inkwells, quills, a table bell, etc., on a desk, or an oil cruet, vinegar cruet, salt cellar, and other condiments on a dining table. In good overall condition, with only a rather old repair to one of the feet, which is solid and barely visible from above (see the last photo). Note: Shipping within France is possible via Colissimo tracked service: €20. Other destinations upon request.
