Pair of beautiful carved and gilded oak frames; France, second half of the 17th century, at the transition between Louis XIII and Louis XIV styles. Originally intended, like most oval frames of this type, to display portraits, these beautiful frames feature a classic decoration consisting of a wreath of oak leaves. The carving is of high quality, with vibrant motifs and exquisite detail. Very difficult to find as a true pair, our frames have also retained their original gold leaf gilding and are generally in excellent condition. Note: Shipping within France is possible via Colissimo with tracking and signature confirmation: 50 euros. Other destinations upon request.
