Louis XV Style Candlestick And Inkwell Holder In Gilt Bronze With Porcelain Flowers, 19th Century.
A lovely Rococo-style candlestick and inkwell stand, made in the 19th century in gilt bronze with Meissen porcelain flowers. Faithfully reproducing the style of pieces dating from the 15th century, this decorative object displays fine craftsmanship and a well-balanced overall design. These Rococo mounts/display stands were used at the time to showcase all sorts of fashionable 18th-century objects in an attractive and theatrical manner, from a simple inkwell to a statuette in white porcelain or a small imported porcelain vase, etc. As the inkwell is removable, it is still possible to use this stand today to display another object with a base approximately 4.5 cm in diameter. The overall condition is excellent, with the original gilding beautifully preserved. Only the rim of the inkwell (removable) shows slight wear consistent with its age and use. French work from the last third of the 19th century. NB/ Shipping possible within France via Colissimo tracked service: 20 euros / Other destinations upon request.
