An interesting portrait of a Roman emperor, carved from white marble and dating from the last third of the 18th century, mounted on a red marble base within a beautiful oval open-frame carved and gilded wooden frame from the late 17th / early 18th century.
The marble portrait depicts the Emperor in profile, facing left and wearing a laurel wreath.
The piece has a beautiful antique patina and is in excellent overall condition.
There is a hanging ring on the back of the marble for wall mounting.
