Rare wooden box, called minnekästchen, engraved with a dog, a hare and foliage with polychrome remains. In the Middle Ages, the hare was a symbol of fertility, joy and represented the resurrection of Christ. The top is decorated with a diamond frieze and marked with a slit. Old collector's label. Southern Germany or Northern Italy, 15th century.
