A satirical print, printed and colored at the time, depicting a patient sitting on a chamber pot, in a scene related to the purgative treatments of the early 19th century. Engraved signature: J. Gillray; publisher's imprint: H. Humphrey, 28 January 1804. Original colors well preserved. Contemporary print conforming to the characteristics of the original publication. Provenance: Purchased in the 1950s from the London art dealers Vicars Brothers Ltd, original label on the reverse. Condition: Very good condition, fresh colors.
