A satirical print depicting a man about to take a “physick”—a common term for a purgative in the early 19th century. A contemporary print published by Hannah Humphrey, Gillray’s principal publisher. The original hand coloring is well preserved. Provenance: Acquired from the Parker Gallery, London, in the 1950s—original gallery label on the reverse. Framing: British frame with black mat.
