Double Ivory Box From The Beginning Of The 16th Century

Very rare precious double box, oak core, ivory inlaid on all sides.

The lower box, rectangular in shape, includes small glass vials arranged in small compartments on the left side and small pewter boxes arranged in other small compartments on the right side. A mirror is in the center of its cover.

The smaller upper cabinet is inserted into the larger lid. Also rectangular in shape, it has on the other hand a cover with a slope.

The lids of the 2 boxes are inlaid inside various species of exotic wood in geometrically shaped reserves separated by inlaid tin threads. Garnish with very finely chiseled and gilded bronzes.
