Magnificent bronze sculpture by renowned Italian sculptor Mario Negri (1916-1987), active in the mid-20th century. Sold at his first solo exhibition in Canada, at the Dominion Gallery in Montreal. This striking sculpture, entitled "Tightrope Dancer," dates from 1954. A figure sculpted with exceptional mastery, rivaling the works of Negri's contemporaries such as Giacometti. Although missing an arm, it retains remarkable expressiveness. A true bronze masterpiece, signed by a highly talented artist.
