Pierre Outin, born in 1840 in Moulins (Allier), died in 1899 in Paris. 19th century. French. Painter of genre scenes and portraits, draftsman. Impressionist tendency. His teachers included Charles-Joseph Lecointe and Alexandre Cabanel. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1868. Museums: Moulins: Episode of the Defeat at Quiberon - Nantes: The Broken Line. Oil on canvas, signed lower left. Old restoration visible on the back of the painting by the artist's workshop (see photo). Dimensions: 55 x 38 cm. With gilt frame: 65 x 48 cm.
