Three oyster forks in Minerva silver, Émile Puiforcat, bearing the arms of the Sapinaud du Boishuguet family, 19th century — heraldry by Gallé.
Silversmith Émile Puiforcat, late 19th century. Solid silver, Minerva 1st standard hallmark (950/1000). The handles are finely engraved with the coat of arms of the Sapinaud du Boishuguet and de la Rairie families: a shield topped with a count’s coronet, supported by two lions, and underscored by the family motto “NE VARIETUR.” The heraldic engraving on these pieces matches in every respect the preparatory drawing made by Émile Gallé in 1868 for this family, now held at the Musée d’Orsay (Inv. ARO 1986-135).
Very good overall condition. Light surface scratches from use. Small gaps visible at the junction between the handles and the tines.
