A beautiful, luminous work by the Toulon painter, Victor Cuguen, depicting a general view of the flower market on the Cour Lafayette in Toulon.
The artist used a vibrant color palette and employed impasto techniques with a palette knife to give depth to his composition.
Victor Louis Cuguen was born in Pontorson, Manche. He participated in the Salon des Indépendants from 1922 to 1940, exhibiting landscapes. He settled in Toulon and became a member of the Friends of the Arts of the Var, participating in numerous exhibitions. He painted lively landscapes of Toulon and its surroundings using a vibrant color palette.
Dimensions: 27 x 35 cm unframed and 38.5 x 46.5 cm with its original wooden frame.
