SHORT UNIFORM COAT OF AN OFFICER OF THE GENERAL STAFF OF THE ARMIES, ADJUDANT COMMANDANT OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD, model of the 1st Vendémiaire, Year XII (September 24, 1803), First Empire. 33675(5496)

Coat in national blue wool lined with the same, no lapels, buttoning straight across the chest to the waist, flaring on the thigh side and not crossed at the back. Collar in national blue wool, 10 cm high, embroidered in gold thread passementerie with two superimposed geometric-shaped buttonholes, from which five oak leaves with acorns emerge; each buttonhole measures approximately 4.2 cm high by 15 cm wide. The cuffs of the same wool are cut, 10 cm high, closing over with a small uniform button (Ø 1.7 cm); the front part is embroidered in gold thread passementerie with three vertical buttonholes, geometric-shaped, from which five oak leaves with acorns emerge; each buttonhole measures approximately 8.5 cm high by 3.7 cm wide.
Draping front panels, folded and sewn onto themselves.
On the right front side, the coat is adorned with nine large uniform buttons (Ø 2.6 cm), evenly spaced from the collar to the waist, one button at each hip.
Gilded brass uniform buttons; unlike the regulatory model, the buttons on this coat are embossed with the crowned imperial eagle holding the thunderbolt of Jupiter in its talons, mounted on brass. These are the buttons of the model for officers of the Imperial Guard, indicating possible membership in the Guard for this uniform.
In the four corners of the revers of the back flap, there is a blue woolen patch (H 7 cm, width 4.8 cm) embroidered with a winged thunderbolt of Jupiter in gold passementerie (H 6.2 cm, width 4 cm).
At the back, waist knot embroidered with oak leaves, two large module uniform buttons.
Near the shoulder seam, a shoulder strap loop made of blue wool, fully embroidered in gold thread (length approximately 9.5 cm, width 1 cm).
The interior lining in national blue wool is complemented with black fabric at the back and sleeves.

Pair of shoulder straps made of national blue wool, fully embroidered with gold threads, bullion, and sequins, consisting of a shoulder strap and a counter-shoulder strap. They do not conform to the regulatory model. Body (length 7 cm, width 7 cm) richly embroidered with foliage with scalloped framing wand. The shield-shaped part is embroidered with oak leaves with a checkered shield; this part is bordered by three rows of gold passementerie with fringes in large clusters known as "spinach seeds" (6.5 cm long). Lining in national blue wool.
