Bridle, model of the Chasseurs à Cheval of the Imperial Guard. First Empire. Entirely black leather, brass buckles and fittings. The bridle consists of a mouthpiece, throatlatch, and browband. The brass plates with beveled edges, placed on either side of the upper part of the bridle, are engraved, on one side with the date "1800" and on the other with "4 ME-CIE" for "4th Company". The bridle bit, of the so-called "pigeon throat" shape, is entirely made of iron with round brass bosses and a central shank; flat curb chain, composed of links. Brass throatlatch crescent. Reins in their original length with remnants of the whip. In good condition; see photos for condition. France. First Empire.
