Shell-shaped box, entirely made of engraved gold, decorated with finely chased radial fluting that creates an elegant play of light across the surface. The gently undulating outline reflects the naturalistic taste characteristic of late 19th-century production.
The interior is plain and gilt, with the original hinge preserved and fully functional. The box displays a well-balanced and solid construction, typical of refined personal objects such as snuff boxes or small handbag cases.
Stamped on the rim with a lozenge-shaped maker’s mark and standard gold marks, consistent with a French manufacture in 18 carat gold.
Total weight: approximately 61 grams.
