An artist who is passionate about modern post-Cubist expressionism.
Born in 1931 in Italy and died in Paris in 2021, Getty Bisagni is an Italian artist from the Italian nobility of Messina.
After graduating from the Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1950s, he began his career as an artist in painting and sculpture in Paris, following the post-Cubist and modern movement, under an expressionist interpretation of his artistic vision, the genre scenes & allegories are this artist’s favorite subjects.
Here, this oil on canvas 55x46 cm represents a duo of musicians, an accordionist and a violinist. Each symbolizes a contrary: the sun and the moon. the accordionist, with warm orange colors, symbolizes the day. The violinist, with a greater presence, symbolizes the night with blue and cold colors, a crescent moon above his head.
His works have been exhibited both in New York and in Paris in prestigious art galleries. This one was exhibited at the 'Galerie des Collectionneurs' 42 rue du Chevalier de la Barre in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. Today it still exists in the same location, but under the name 'Galerie du Chevalier'.
Signed lower right 'Getty Bisagni', this oil on canvas by a famous Franco-Italian artist is just waiting to be adopted in a post-Cuban modern art collection or by an expressionist enthusiast of the late 20th century.
