Created by the artisan painters and potters of the Gien factory (Loiret, France), this footed fruit bowl features an “Empire” design in blue and white with laurel motifs and medallions of swans and birds, entirely hand-painted.

The Gien Manufactory is an internationally renowned institution in the world of French earthenware and tableware. Founded in 1821 by the English industrialist Thomas Edme Hulm, with the ambition of creating earthenware using French techniques and an English style.

This rarer “Empire” model dates from the 1890s. The “Empire” model incorporates Empire-era motifs such as laurel and a rich, structured design.
