The Maghreb and particularly Morocco is known worldwide for its artisans, master of the work of repoussé brass.
This board dates from the beginning of the 20th century, probably during the advent of the Art Deco period (1910-1939), a pivotal period in design where geometry was present on the patterns & shapes of objects.
Its center is slightly openwork, the body of this tray is covered with various chiselled and hammered patterns, heir to Art Deco and influenced by Islamic craftsmanship, recalling the architectural motifs of certain mosques. The attachment on his back was added later, to put this tray on the wall, which was used for tea service at the base.
