It contains strands of hair carefully braided and fixed on a light background, probably of a woman, deceased, formed in a cross & accompanied by foliage. It symbolizes love for the deceased, and attachment to lost beings. Everything is protected by a black wooden frame typical of the Napoleon III era and a curved glass.
