Pair Of Art Deco Vases Signed Charles Greber In Flamed Stoneware From 1930
Artist: Charles Greber
Pair of Art Deco vases signed by Charles Greber in 1930 flamed stoneware
Creation of the French ceramist Charles Greber, born in 1853 and died in 1935, this pair of vases in flamed sandstone is typical of the production of this craftsman, pioneer of the enamelling of flamed sandstone.
From a very young age, Charles Greber was able to turn ceramics and leather the stoneware by shaping it with his hands. He will take over with his brother Paul the management of the Manufacture de grès de Beauvais, which they will enrich by transforming a utilitarian stoneware production into a decorative and artistic one.
The posterity of Charles Greber reached its peak thanks to his works influenced by the architectural style of Art Nouveau from 1880 to 1910. But rarer pieces, and prized ones, are those of the Art Deco period (1910-1939) from which this pair of vases in flamed stoneware comes: the organic gives way to a sophisticated and fine geometry, with an original glaze, forged by the force of the oven fire.
Perfect for a tasteful decoration, or for the collection of signed stoneware, this pair of flamed stoneware vases by Charles Greber are just waiting for you!
