Camille Tharaud Vase, Enamelled Limoges Porcelain, Amarante Model With Apple Blossoms
Artist: Camille Tharaud (1878-1956)
Splendid vase in enameled Limoges porcelain by Camille THARAUD, Amaranth shape and decorated with apple blossoms in azure blue tones enhanced with gilding on a pretty pale blue cloudy background.
The very original upturned neck is perfectly finished. We owe this vase shape to the painter Henri RAPIN (1873-1939) who distinguished himself at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. A friend of Camille THARAUD, he would later design more than twenty shapes and decorations for his vases.
Camille THARAUD (1878-1956), a famous porcelain maker world-renowned for his grand feu decorations, created the first hand-painted decorations on raw enamel in Limoges porcelain.
