The spoon is decorated with a grotesque face in white silver on a background of matte, gilt-gilt cut leather. The handle is decorated with a vase, its lower portion adorned with a vase, and a long cascade of coins.
The cascade is in white silver and contrasts magnificently with the gilt rim.
On the back of the spoon is an oval cartouche monogrammed BB (?).
The back of the bowl is also decorated with another face.
The gilt-gilt bowl is delicately pierced.
This sugar shaker is reminiscent of the famous Puiforcat model, although our version is much rarer, with some stylistic differences.
The spoon is hallmarked: Minerva 1st standard, pre-1973
A well-struck silversmith's mark, but with slightly blurred lettering. Perhaps not suitable for Henri Soufflot, especially since the difference is the same: a sun and a star.
Magnificent sugar spoon, remarkable for its Neo-Renaissance decoration and the subtle interplay of white and gold silver.
