Aubusson-style Knotted Rug, 300x235 Cm

Inspired by the grand decorative compositions of 18th-century French rugs, this remarkable Aubusson-style knotted pile carpet captivates with its abundant decoration and elegant design, characteristic of classically inspired decorative works.

The central field, a deep and warm red, is structured around a large oval ivory medallion, richly adorned with a central floral bouquet in delicate shades of pink, cream, and soft green. This medallion is surrounded by a profusion of arabesques, scrolls, and stylized floral motifs, arranged with perfect symmetry and highlighted with gilt details that add depth and refinement to the whole.

At the four corners, large floral cartouches with light backgrounds echo the bouquet theme, linked to the central decoration by garlands and undulating ribbons, typical of the Aubusson aesthetic. The wide borders, in ivory and gold tones, are delicately adorned with floral motifs, interlacing patterns, and architectural elements, harmoniously framing the composition and accentuating its prestigious character.

Condition : Good overall condition, with signs of wear.
The rug has three holes (two small and one larger), as well as several discreet stains that blend into the design, slightly visible in the central medallion.Two other stains are more noticeable in the border.
All of these elements are visible in the accompanying photographs and do not detract from the rug's overall appearance or decorative harmony.
