Carpet Ghoum Design Boteh flag

Object description :

"Carpet Ghoum Design Boteh"
Handmade Iranian Persian Ghoum oriental rug "kork" wool (best quality ++), circa 1960.

On a field with an indigo blue background, animated by an attractive motif called boteh.
It is said that the original Persian droplet-shaped design - the boteh or buta - was a depiction of a floral wreath combined with a cypress, a symbol of life and eternity. The seed-like shape is also believed to represent fertility and has connections to Hinduism.

You will see the majestic imperial crown adorning the central medallion.
The borders and against borders are set with garlands and scrolls of flowers and foliage.
