Multiple Relic, 19th Or Late 18th Century, 4 Saints, Oval Shape
Magnificent oval copper relic adorned with a seal depicting four bone fragments (Ossibus or Oss.B.) of four saints.
From top to bottom, these are probably the following names:
Oss.BP Borie,
Oss.BJ Gagelin,
Oss.B. Th. Urnard,
Oss.BH Jaccard.
The base is a piece of handwoven red silk, onto which are fixed four rolls of white paper edged in red and bearing the names. Above each roll is a piece of patterned white paper, on which the relic rests. These pieces of paper are also decorated with a border and two glass beads. The relic dates from the early 19th century, perhaps the late 18th century. It opens at the back, revealing the seal and cords, still in perfect condition.
Height: 6 cm (including eyelet)
Width: 4 cm
Thickness: 1.3 cm
Thank you for your visit. Sincerely, Ben
