Large Glazed Earthenware Holy Water Font From The 18th Century, Ligron, Sarthe, Beauvais? Folk Art, 18th Century
Large glazed earthenware holy water font with a rich decoration featuring an angel's head at the top, surmounting a cross carried by two angels, a Christ on Calvary in the center, cherubs on the sides, and fleurs-de-lis on either side of a large spout. 18th century work, probably from the first half. Origin to be determined: Sarthe (Ligron)? Beauvaisis? Dimensions: height 32 cm - width 24 cm. A very interesting object in good overall condition. A few minor losses are noted, particularly at the feet of the angels.
