Scene from ancient Egypt, oil on cardboard from the 19th century. Two men, at least one of whom is a prisoner or a slave, leaning against a column, in shackles, in an interior lit by an oil lamp, seem to be receiving instructions from an Egyptian woman. Rectangular frame in blackened wood with a gilded interior frieze. Overall dimensions: height 47.5 cm - width 37.5 cm. Dimensions on view: height 38.5 cm - width 28.5 cm. Good general condition and interesting play of light for this painting to which my photographs do not really pay homage. Minor wear to the frame.
