Lorraine Pewter Water Jug - 18th Century

Artist: A Identifier
Lorraine Pewter Water Jug - 18th Century. A baluster-shaped pewter water jug with a stepped foot, flared neck, molded horizontal groove, and a handle decorated with three pearls. The hallmark is illegible but consists of a fleur-de-lis surmounted by a crown (Lorraine). A water jug of the same type (shape, three pearls on the handle) is illustrated in Mr. Bergbauer's book, "Étains de Lorraine" (Lorraine Pewter), page 48. It could be by Jean-François Gallois. In good condition. Height 17 cm.
