Holy Water Font in Islettes Faience" Holy water font in high-fire polychrome faience from Islettes. Period late 18th - early 19th century. Characteristic shape with a backsplash painted with a peripheral border, painted cross, large, wide, semi-spherical basin without a gadrooned nipple. Perizonium tied on the side... Its originality lies in abundant hair, a very large perizonium and its cup painted in 3 colors. See photo of the reference book (image top left). This object is part of the iconographic images in this book, the former owner was partly the editor. Polychromy in perfect condition. Note a microscopic enamel jump on the nose of Christ. No cracks, no repairs.
