"Printed Organza Ceremonial Coat In The Style Of Pierre Balmain - France Circa 1958-1962"
Circa 1958-1962, France. A summer ceremonial coat in printed organza, unlabeled but in the style of Pierre Balmain, dating from the late 1950s. Loose-fitting, flared at the hem, with a back vent, three-quarter length sleeves, and a turned-down pointed collar. The coat is double-breasted at the front without buttons, made of a flowing, translucent organza printed in the style of a naturalist painter, typical of textiles of this period. The large-scale design features undulating stems laden with bellflowers in shades of pale pink and fuchsia. The seams are entirely hand-sewn. The design is likely an unidentified haute couture piece, but strongly in the style of the House of Pierre Balmain. No flaws, stains, or holes. In very good condition, both in color and overall. Size: Equivalent to a French size 40. Shoulders 35 cm, sleeves 40 cm, height 110 cm, chest 95-100 cm, hips 120 cm.
