Cocktail Dress And Bolero In Satin Flocked With Black Polka Dots - France Circa 1965
Circa 1960-1965, France. A polka-dot silk satin cocktail or formal dress from an unidentified atelier, dating from the 1960s. The background is a striking cream satin flocked with a randomly arranged black velvet polka dot plumetis. The fitted, sheath-style dress is sleeveless and features a deep plunging neckline held by thin black velvet straps. A matching sleeveless bolero jacket, with a high neckline, fastens at the back with a snap button. A matching belt ties at the waist, giving the bolero a slightly blouson effect. The dress has a side zipper and is unlined, revealing the hand-sewn details. The unlined bolero is weighted with small dots at the hem, ensuring a beautiful drape. Please note two unstitched darts in the back, a few minor scratches on the satin, two small repairs (less than 1 cm) on the side seams, and some very faint, barely visible soiling (photo available upon request). The garment is otherwise clean, with no holes or stains. Good overall condition despite a few minor flaws. Measurements: Equivalent to French size 39-40. Bolero jacket: shoulders 44 cm, bust 95 cm, waist 80 cm, length 60 cm. Dress: bust 87-89 cm, waist 78 cm, hips 95 cm, length 104 cm.
