An imposing walnut panel in high relief depicting Adam and Eve, accompanied by the serpent at the foot of the Tree of Knowledge in an architectural setting.
A superb walnut panel in the Renaissance style, framed by an oak molding.
A superb 17th-century work.
The sculpture is reminiscent of Italian Mannerism and the magnificent Venuses with flowing hair by certain great masters.
The serpent takes on an anthropomorphic form. The scene has been reproduced in engravings, drawings, etc., but here the sculptor has transcribed it in walnut with some naive touches, while still creating a very distinctive and powerful work.
A superb Renaissance-style panel, reminiscent of the Italian school as well as the School of Fontainebleau.
There is a restoration in the center between the two figures, at the foot of the tree.
