A swordsman's rapier with a thick blade, Hispano-Portuguese, 17th century. The thick blade has a lenticular cross-section and a small faceted iron pommel with a rivet button, securing the guard branch to the crossguard with a screw. It features two straight quillons ending in nail heads. The full steel hilt has a blade-breaking rim and is 11.5 cm in diameter. The grip is made of turned wood, curved in the center and fluted.
