Japan, Edo Period - 1600-1868, Iron tsuba with a black patina, in the shape of a Mar-gata (round) cup, with an openwork zukashi (openwork) decorated with a phoenix in cherry blossom branches in relief, highlighted with gold on the bird's body and the flower pistils.
