Egyptian Porphyry And Bronze Cup With Cherubs
An imposing Egyptian red porphyry cup with moldings and gadroons, supported by three patinated bronze shell-gathering children. One of them sits on a dolphin and blows into a conch shell. The undulating background is strewn with shells and reeds. The group rests on a circular porphyry base, encircled with pearls and gilt bronze laurel leaves.
