Heavy and comfortable Persian Sarouk rug originating from Iran;
this rug measures 128 cm x 215 cm, is in perfect condition, and dates from the 1980s.
A very durable piece, it boasts beautiful colors, primarily ivory, blue, burgundy, and red.
The entire blue field, covered with flowers and arabesques, supports a striking juxtaposed medallion.
This medallion is accompanied by two small pendants in the shape of a halberd or fleur-de-lis.
Four spandrels close the corners of the field.
The shades are fresh, and the thick, soft pile is in perfect condition.
The edges are impeccable, as are the fringes, which retain their original length.
This rug is a beautiful decorative and comfortable piece; the design is abundant and exquisitely drawn.
The high-quality kork wool is taken primarily from the neck of the lamb.
The Sarouk rug, or Sarouk, is the Ecbatana of Antiquity.
This rug is knotted in a few villages near Sarouk in the agricultural region of Arak.
